About Cherie Mannino

A native of New Orleans, born and raised in the Lower Ninth Ward on the banks of the Mississippi River, Cherie has enjoyed an exciting professional singing career in New Orleans, Los Angeles, Columbus and abroad. Her vocal experiences include performances with timeless greats, including Tony Bennett, and singing backup for jazz icons, Keely Smith, and Rosemary Clooney, as well as pop diva, Linda Ronstadt.


Closer to home, Cherie's vocal chops have been recognized with awards at Southeast Jazz competitions. Public performances include Snug Harbor, Tipatina’s, House of Blues, as well as The N.O. Jazz and Heritage Festival, French Quarter Festival, and the list goes on. Her vibrant, soulful singing style is a true delight for jazz and blues fans alike. Cherie's voice is powerful, yet versatile, controlled, but fresh, fluid and surprising. In each performance, Cherie's love of the music, her sense of humor and heart-felt musical expression has made her a local favorite in New Orleans and Columbus. Having lived in Columbus for the past 16 years, Cherie is grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this exciting, vibrant music community.


In addition to Cap City Swing, Cherie currently can be heard singing with several groups in the Columbus area, including North Columbus Big Band, Shoutin’ Sisters, The HoneyTones, The Ramblers & 3CatSwing.
